Didn’t get the confirmation email? What to do after signup
Account created but no confirmation email? Check spam, use Send Magic Link from Sign In, and do not create another account — step-by-step for Find Scrims.
Account created — what happens next
After you create a Find Scrims account with email + password, we send a confirmation email. You need to open that link (or finish confirmation) before password sign-in works.
You do not need to create another account if something looks stuck. Duplicate signups are the most common way people lock themselves out of the original inbox.
1 — Check inbox and spam first
- Look for an email from Find Scrims about confirming your account.
- Check Spam / Junk / Promotions — confirmation mail often lands there on the first try.
- Open the link on the same device/browser you plan to use, then return to Sign In.
If the email already arrived and the site said something scary about “couldn’t send” — trust the inbox. Your account was created; open the link and sign in.
2 — If the email never shows up
Do not hit Create Account again with the same email.
Instead:
- Go to Sign In.
- Enter the same email.
- Click Send Magic Link.
- Open the newest email, or enter the code from that email on the sign-in form.
Magic Link signs you in without depending on the original confirmation message. After you’re in, finish onboarding (handle, region, game role) so invites and teams work.
3 — Password sign-in says “email not confirmed”
That means the account exists but confirmation is still pending. Same playbook:
- Open the confirmation link from inbox/spam, or
- Use Send Magic Link from Sign In
Still nothing after a few minutes? Wait briefly if you just requested several emails (rate limits), then try Magic Link once more. Contact support only after you’ve checked spam and tried Magic Link with the original email.
4 — Captains: help a teammate who’s stuck
When someone says “signup is broken,” ask:
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Did they check spam? | Most “missing” confirmations are there |
| Did they create the account twice? | Creates confusion; use Magic Link on the first email |
| Can they use Send Magic Link? | Unblocks sign-in without a new account |
Then point them at team invites once they’re confirmed: How to onboard your esports team.
Quick checklist
- Create account once
- Confirm from inbox/spam
- Finish onboarding
- Accept team invite / create team
